BattleSystems Dungeon Terrain

Last year I backed the BattleSystems Kickstarter for their dungeon terrain. I missed out on the SciFi terrain Kickstarter, but was able to add it to my dungeon pledge. Well it's taken awhile, but today I went from this...

To this...

The terrain is all made from pre-printed cardboard and is modular so just fits together with small plastic clips. I have a few Doctor Who scenarios in mind for both the dungeon and SciFi sets - more on that soon (ish). But we intend on playing a game of Frostgrave first...

Update (Easter Sunday)

Despite Sunday's hail that made us stand in the conservatory with our ears plugged, we had a cracking game of Frostgrave today. Both wizards went down, but survived to play again - Mighty Kyle's wizard now achieving level 6... Still, my Necromancer managed to grab a couple of treasures, just as well since my Captain died from his wounds and I had to hire another! Here's a few photos from today's game (we found it very useful that the dungeon tiles were 1 inch squares - no need to measure for movement).

  1. Looks like a brilliant set-up! Am I right in thinking you usually have to buy the clips separately? I've been tempted by these...

    1. I think you can by more clips if you need them, but mine came with clips. I suspect you can always use more though.

  3. Oh my, that looks impressive! I backed the modern/post apocalypse one and will be thrilled if it looks half as good as this.

    1. I didn't go for the last modern set. But now wonder if I should have - it would also work for Doctor Who... Oh well!

  4. That's not bad looking. If, if mind you, I ever try out Frost Grave I would definitely pick this up to make the game more fun.

    1. Oh I do have a question about Frost Grave, is it like the Ronin set where you play on a 2 X 2 area? Is Lions Rampart also a 2 X 2? I'm liking the smaller play area these days.

      Cheers

    2. Thanks Kevin, we did enjoy playing the game using the terrain. To be honest I set it up simply to see how it would look. I intend using it for a Doctor Who game. But once it was up we thought we might as well have a game of Frostgrave. Frostgrave is typically played on 3x3 boards. The Battlesystems set up was only 2x2 but worked well enough for our game. I have some more bits that could expand it somewhat if needed.
